We are a co-operative, owned and controlled by our members.
We promote savings, provide credit at reasonable rates, and provide financial services to our members.
We have strong values and no external shareholders to keep happy. Any profits made are used to secure our future, improve our services, and ultimately given back to our members through a competitive dividend.
People who join our credit union are called 'members', and the credit union is run purely for their benefit. We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority and a members of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
What we do
We provide financial services people can access easily. We don't turn you away if you have a poor credit history, and we don't shut the door on you if you have trouble proving your identity.
We believe in providing financial services so that people can go about their lives accessing the basic financial products we all need to get along in life.
We encourage saving. One of our aims is 'the promotion of thrift through saving'. Even just a little saved away each week will help prepare you for a financial emergency and prepare you for the future.
By saving collectively as a co-operative we are able to achieve more.
We provide low-cost loans. All our members aged 18 or over are eligible to apply for a loan regardless of status. We specialise in loans to people on a low income or state benefits.
Our maximum interest rate is just 26.8% APR. As a co-operative some of our savings are loaned out to members that need to borrow. By collectively saving and borrowing we can provide a safe place for people to save and borrow.
We provide a current account for people to manage their daily finances. We will help you to open your account, manage your standing orders and help you budget better to make the most of your account.
We won't charge you excessive fees if you make a mistake and you can telephone our local office for further support.
Who can use our services
