How do I apply for a loan? To apply for a loan you must be a member. If you are not a member, apply for membership and a loan at the same time. All loans are assessed on your ability to repay. Evidence of your financial situation will be required. A detailed analysis of your income and expenditure will be undertaken. YOUR LOAN WILL NOT BE PROCESSED UNLESS ALL THE RELEVANT EVIDENCE BELOW IS INCLUDED WITH YOUR APPLICATION. What sort of evidence must I provide? 1) PROOF OF INCOME: Your last three months Bank or Building Society statements.Your last three wage slips.Benefit book or letter from relevant authority showing the amount you receive. 2) PROOF OF OUTGOINGS: If you pay your bills through your Bank the statements should show regular payments. If you do not pay bills through your Bank you will need to provide such things as: up to date mortgage / rent statement; Council tax card; Recent water, gas, and electricity receipts, bills or statements; TV licence plan; Store / credit card statement; Insurance payments; Catalogue payment card / books, or cards from other lenders. Details of any arrears and how these are being repaid. Details of any County Court Judgements (a credit history check is part of the loan application process). What Happens Next? You will be issued with a receipt once we have received all of your paperwork. We will not start to process your application until we have all the information. We aim to deal with your loan as quickly as possible, generally you will need to allow 1 to 2 weeks from the time we receive ALL the paperwork. It may be longer at busy times so if you want money for a particular time please plan ahead and apply at least a month before to avoid disappointment. Please do not phone to check on the progress of your application as this delays the process. We will notify you if we need any further information or when the loan has been approved. We rely on the contact details you have given on your application. Things to check before you phone us Have you sent in everything which was requested? Is it 2 weeks or more since we issued the receipt? When you contact us Most of our collection points and phones are staffed by our volunteers who we rely on to provide the service to our members. We are a voluntary, not for profit group. Please respect our staff and volunteers when making contact. We will not process applications where the customer is abusive to our staff or volunteers.
